In the heart of the historic fishing village, overlooking Port Isaac harbour, stands The Slipway dating back to 1527. In the past The Slipway has been a smugglers hideaway and a ships chandlery. Shortly after World War II the building was converted into a seaside guest house and hotel. In 1969, due to its architectural and historic importance, the building was Grade II listed by the National Trust.
